St Nectaire (Senecterre)

St Nectaire (Senecterre) is in the heart of a valley dominated by le Massif du Sancy in the Auvergne, central France.

The church is set on le Mont Cornadore, at 750m altitude. The church treasure includes a roman figure of the madonna & child - in many ways very similar to the renowned black madonnas to be found in the same region - with over-sized hands an the infant who is seated on her lap holding a book.
